A fun workshop suitable for beginners and embroiderers of all levels. All the techniques and materials needed to complete this amusing piece of medieval art will be provided. This workshop uses traditional embroidery stitches used in the Bayeux Tapestry (laid and couched work). Katherine is a graduate of the Royal School of Embroidery and Goldwork and has been teaching embroidery for many years.

The "Mad Bunny/Killer Rabbit" motif is a popular marginalia drollery in medieval manuscripts. Rabbits were usually symbols of purity and helplessness but they are also depicted as the hunters and as terrifying big strong knights. In the medieval mind, the world turned upside down was the height of humour so bad rabbits should have you in stitches!

Katherine will provide the fabric, needles and threads. Please bring a hoop and sharp scissors. Lunch is not provided but refreshments are.

Workshop will run from 10am to approximately 4pm in Oswestry.

Saturday 27th September 2025

Please book in advance as numbers are strictly limited.
