Workshops

Workshops begin in  September

Find them under "workshops" in the Search bar if you would like to book online. All of our workshops have had a re-jig and you will now find that we have Crochet School as well as Knitting School. Our big workshops (Fair Isle and Steeking, Brioche, Cables, Mending and Sweater Society) have been broken down into two manageable workshops. This means that you can get a grounding in the technique, go away and practice and then come back for more!

We can also arrange one-to-one slots before and after shop opening hours for individual tuition, a brush-up on partly forgotten skills or pattern-wrangling. Please arrange in the shop over the phone or via email.

Workshops 2025

Knitting School will resume on 17th September in Oswestry, 25th September in Shrewsbury. The first lesson is for complete beginners while the following lessons are great for learning, developing and improving your knitting confidence. Baffled by bobbles, confused by cables, or confounded by knitting in the round? How do you change colour or make things bigger or smaller and why use different cast ons and bind offs? What does happen when you’ve finished an item or how do you pick up for the button band?  Becca is brilliant at explaining and will bring these techniques to clarity.

Brioche is not just bread! Find Brioche workshops on 18th October (Rising) and 1st November (Proving).

Joy of Sox teaches you all the techniques you need to know to knit a pair of socks. As it is our most popular workshop don't delay in booking! Two dates for you to choose from 6th September and 22nd November

We are fascinated by Fair Isle and Steeking. Learn this fun technique on 4th October and 18th October

Crochet School starts 17th September in Oswestry, 25th September in Shrewsbury.

Enjoy some legal stabbing (needle felting) with the lovely Maxine of Tilly Tea Dance. On 26th September she will help you make a toadstool picture while on 17th October she will be teaching you to make a picture of poppies.

We haven't forgotten the embroiderers and those that want to learn to embroider! Have fun learning medieval laid and couched work as seen on the Bayuex Tapestry with Katherine Keatley and "The Killer Rabbit"

Don't know where to start with embroidery but fancy a little taste of lots of stitches? Begin by learning a embroidered "Stitch Library" with Katherine on 11th October before she returns for her final visit of the year on 22nd November for her Crewelwork Robin workshop

Stitchin’!

Oswestry Stitchin'! runs every other Wednesday evening.

30th July, 13th and 27th August, 10th and 24th September, 8th (Festive Decorations)  and 22nd October, 5th (Festive Decorations) and 19th November
