Fair Isle has to be to prize of all colour work techniques.

These workshops cover all the basics of Fair Isle knitting, which will be done in the round.

Fair Isle Workshop 1 - Casting on, corrugated ribbing, working in the round, working from a chart, colour dominance, changing colours, managing floats. Includes practice time and the opportunity to learn how to fix mistakes.

Fair Isle Workshop 2 - Choosing colours, selecting a 'pop', swatching, handling two yarns at a time, setting up a steek, preparing and cutting a steek, finishing off and blocking. Includes practice time.

We recommend you bring a notebook. DK yarn supplied, please bring 3.75 - 4mm double pointed needles or a short (40cm) circular needle.

For session 2 you may prefer to work in 4 ply yarn, if so please bring 3-3.50mm needles instead. Yarn will be supplied.

These are the sort of workshops that can earn you one of our marvellous proficiency badges! Complete either workshop, and then bring in your first Fair Isle project off the needles, and be presented with one of these...
