Join Katherine Keatley for a day learning this ancient technique of embroidery. Used by the Anglo-Saxons and throughout the Bayeux Tapestry, this embroidery technique has definitely seen the test of time!
Katherine has a Roman/ Celtic inspired Eagle design for you to work on. She will supply all the threads, fabric and needles but please bring your own 8" hoop. The eagle will be worked with traditional wool threads on a linen background. The main focus is using laid and couched techniques and you will learn a couple of other stitches too; Ssem stitch and chain stitch. Although your embroidery won't be finished on the day, Katherine will teach all the stitches during the session so you can work at your own pace.
