New Life Wool is right up our alley. A 100% recycled yarn, taking reuseable and salvageable materials out of the landfill system, and turning them into something very desirable. The aran weight yarn produced is soft and promises to be durable, and the colours are impressive given that no additional colourants are used. The nature of the fibre lends a tweedy, marled effect to the shades, some have additional flecks of colour added (indicated by the addition of "marl" to the shade name). I can't wait to cast on!
New Life Wool is made from old sweaters collected at recycling stations throughout Europe and shipped to the Hjertegarn factory in India where they are sorted by fibre and colour. The production of the yarn takes place under GRS-certified working conditions, including no forced labour and with a focus on health and safety. No dyes or chemicals are used in the manufacturing process.
