An Introduction to beautiful Japanese Sashiko stitching.

Join Becca and Amanda for 3 hours of Sashiko, where we will all work together to improve our techniques.

We will guide you through the first stages of this style of stitching and tell you something of it's history and cultural development. We will explore its original usage, and modern applications.

Suitable for complete beginners and those wanting some dedicated stitching time.

Bring your own kit if you have it, or buy a session place and kit together. 

Session kit comprises 1 x Daruma marked cloth, 1 x Daruma thread, 1x packet Daruma Sashiko needles and a leather thimble. Available at a reduced rate when bought with the workshop. Colours of fabric and thread may vary according to availability.

We will have a 30 minute lunch break halfway through. Feel free to bring a packed lunch or treat yourself to something delicious in one of the nearby cafes.
