Each year West Yorkshire Spinners process thousands of kilos of British wool; every spin leaves an excess amount of material that would usually wind up as ‘waste’. We all love our wool, and West Yorkshire Spinners have decided not to waste any!
They start by collecting all this valuable, perfectly good fibre and add a helpful hint of nylon, which is also recycled from their spins. Next, it goes to their local production partner to card, comb and convert back into tops before it arrives back at the mill for spinning. This spun yarn then heads out again to be dyed locally, and once dyed, it’s back to West Yorkshire Spinners for finishing, balling and packing. Sustainability is at the heart of everything West Yorkshire Spinners do, and all of this takes place within a 10-mile radius of their mill.
